In bracing contrast to the updated angles of the case and bracelet, this intriguing watch reaches back to the past with a deep blue gradated gloss-finish multi-layer dial patterned with an Asanoha hemp-leaf motif, a symbol of growth and prosperity dating to the Heian Period (794-1185 AD). The hemp-leaf pattern is continued over the open aperture, with its view of the 24-jewel automatic movement, which beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with an extraordinary power reserve of approximately 72 hours and manual winding capability. With a 24-hour subdial, the dial also features applied markers and crisply sculpted LumiBrite hands, and is topped by a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface.
