Seiko Presage Classic Series SPB525

From the Presage Classic Series – watches designed with inherent Japanese elegance, this watch is named ‘Ai-iro’ for its indigo dial – a colour loved during Japan’s Edo period between 1603 and 1868. ‘Ai-iro’ was regarded as a ‘lucky colour’ to Samurai warriors – during the Meiji era of 1868 to 1912, towns would cover themselves in the colour, leading foreign countries to name it ‘Japan Blue.’ Its dial texture is inspired by soft silk – a popular Japanese material since ancient times, often seen in home décor and clothing. Under dual-curved sapphire glass, the domed dial with curved hands and indices evoke vintage style and are specifically designed to maximise light reflections. The seven-piece multi-row bracelet has been developed and inspired by 1970s retro metal watch bracelets. Not only are these designed for style and to reflect the light, each piece is short at only 6mm long, allowing for maximum movement and comfort. This Classic Series timepiece is powered by an in-house built 6R55 calibre, accurate to -15/+25 seconds per day, with a three-day 72-hour power reserve.
