This timepiece is limited to only 1,200 pieces worldwide and its design combines Seiko’s watchmaking expertise with the traditional Japanese artistry of Arita porcelain. The small Japanese town of Arita in Kyushu came to prominence in the early 17th century when clay suitable for porcelain was discovered, later becoming prized for high quality artistry. Despite a history of over 400 years, this traditional craft has never stopped evolving in terms of materials and moulding techniques. The warm white colouring of the dial is from the unglazed, high temperature-fired porcelain – the original colour of Arita porcelain in Japan. Its matt texture enhances the three-dimensional diamond cut design ridges; unique contours which reflect the light. Designed to be both a men’s and ladies style, this timepiece is paired with a black gloss leather strap, sustainably sourced and LWG-certified by the Leather Working Group international organisation for sustainable leather production. This dress watch comes in a special paulownia wood box, ideal for gifting. Powered by an in-house built 6R51 automatic calibre, this timepiece is accurate to -15/+ 25 seconds per day with a 72-hour power reserve.
