Born of perseverance and hope the history of the Seiko brand name goes back to the aftermath of the devastating Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 when K. Hattori & Co. determined to rebuild released its 1924 first Seiko branded wristwatch. Part of a special group of limited editions commemorating this pivotal moment this landmark timepiece part of the first globally launched watch series to bear the “Marinemaster” name is available only in a controlled-production run of 1000 with the serial number engraved on each case back. Distinguished by its blend of functionality and aesthetics and featuring the first see-through screwdown caseback on a Seiko diver’s watch this superbly balanced design also includes an elegantly chamfered case and bezel as well as a flexible double-curved bracelet for a comfortable fit. Based largely on Seiko’s 1965 diver’s watch the first made in Japan this exceptional timepiece extends the Prospex tradition of celebrating its rich legacy of innovation in high-intensity timekeeping by re-creating and re-interpreting signature achievements with today’s finest technology and materials. Visible beneath the caseback the thin but exceptionally accurate 26-jewel 6L37 movement beats at a frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 45 hours and manual winding capability. Framed by a uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel the distinctively patterned white dial offers LumiBrite hands and markers. As rugged as it is stylish this premium diver’s watch following ISO standards for scuba diving is crafted of stainless steel with a durable super-hard coating and features a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface screwdown crown and a tri-fold push button release clasp with secure lock and extender.     Such a wonderful experience. It was my husband and my 16 year wedding anniversary on the day we walked into the store. We weren’t expecting to find a beautiful band with my taste and in our budget. However, the owner and his son Sterling were very helpful and patient. Sterling has excellent taste and such a calm demeanor. We really felt comfortable and the owner gave us a great deal for our anniversary I will never forget this experience. They even fixed my engagement ring by replacing a stone that had originally fallen out and they also tightened all the prongs because the main diamond was wobbling in danger of coming loose. They did this all same day within a couple hours while I looked for my anniversary band! This meant so much to me because I hadn’t been able to wear my engagement ring for many years and I thought it would be super expensive to fix. The last time I went to a fast fix place and paid close to $1,500. They did a terrible job and replacing one of the small diamonds that had fallen out with a dark dirty dark diamond that didn’t match the rest of the diamonds on the band of my engagement ring…After that I was so disappointed and discouraged to take my ring again somewhere to fix it. But Dejuan’s totally took care of me and I paid under $200 to replace the small dirty diamond and fix the damage the fax fix place caused. To walk out on my 16 year wedding anniversary finally able to wear my engagement ring after so many years of keeping it in the drawer… ugh I can’t tell you how sooo thankful I am for good honest people and professionals!
